The cooperation between Guitar Shorty and Roberto Morbioli / Morblus surely is one of the most exciting collaborations hitting the Blues scene.
At the same time it’s a promising face-off between two musicians that generated a lot of buzz while shaping and finding their own style.
You realize right away that these blues titans were made for each other.
The native Texan Guitar Shorty. Blues legend, W.C. Handy Award Winner, former guitarist of Ray Charles and the musician both Buddy Guy and Jimi Hendrix call their biggest influence.
And Roberto Morbioli, the successful singer, guitarist and songwriter of his own band Morblus. Who is well known widely over the borders of his hometown of Verona for more than 25 years.
Both know how to capture the audience with their guitar playing.
Soulful and virtuosic on the one hand. Hypnotic and energetic on the other they play electric blues driven by improvisation and creativity. Never boring or predictable you can feel the temperamental synergy between the Texas bluesman and the charismatic Italian.
What really stands out is the exchange between the audience and two dedicated musicians which both like to prove that while playing compelling solos in between the thrilled crowd of listeners.
Despite the difference in age they both individually retrospect a long and prosperous musical life. Several tours and collaborations with greats such as Bo Diddley, Sam Cooke, Big Daddy Wilson and a ton of others.
This dialogue between Italy and Texas will be no exception and already is a milestone in the life of two exceptional musicians.
